Default [SI-LIST] SPICE to IBIS conversion

Hi all,
Can any one please tell me how to convert the SPICE model to IBIS model
for OPAMP?

Thanks in advance

How are you going to use the IBIS model of an Op Amp? Op Amp are linear
devices, IBIS models deal with digital signals. The output of a digital
driver goes from a logic 1 to a logic 0 or vice versa. The output of an op
amp can be at any value if it is operated as an amplifier.

If you are just interested in modeling the op amp for crosstalk purposes
then use terminator models for the active pins. This will allow the SI
simulator to predict the amount of noise from other digital sources coupled
into the input and output pins of the op amp.

You cannot use an IBIS input model because the op amp has no input
thresholds for hi and low.

If you only want to model the op amp's output for "digital purposes" then
you could have the output swing from rail to rail and model it as an output
driver.

You cannot model the transfer characteristics of the op amp.

I can't think of any reasonable way to model an op-amp in IBIS. IBIS
supports bi-stable buffers and non-linear passive loads, but not linear
amplifiers.

....and a simple search will find a few out there already in the
standard flavours.

Verilog-a example:
http://www.eda.org/verilog-ams/models/opamp.va

(remembering that most of the main Spice variants these days support
straight Verilog-a too [which, in my humble opinion is fantastic]).

There is a nice paper on a vhdl-ams version on the IEEExplore site too
(Google finds it OK with: vhdl-ams opamp)

Richard

Jebasingh,

Even though the previous answers are correct for
normal IBIS models, you could consider using the
Verilog-AMS or VHDL-AMS language extensions in
IBIS for modeling your Op-Amp.
