Can anyone give me a general idea on pricing and availability for low
volumes (~50) of the XC3S4000-5FG900? The only online price I can find
is $242 from Avnet, for the -4 part (no -5), no stock, 8 weeks
leadtime.

That seems like a fair price for 50..
