Default How can FPGAs be used for high speed data acquisition????

hi everybody
How can the FPGAs (particularly ALTERA) be used for high speed data
acquisition of the order of 10 MSPS(mega samples per second ).Which
one ADSP 21992 or FPGA is better? What is a CAN(CONTROone ADSP 21992
or FPGA is better? What is a CAN(CONTROL AREA NETWORK)? pls reply soon
