Default where to go? is there some body can give me advice?.

These days i am in the hot water to make a choice, or seek a choice.

After got the master degree in engineering related to control. I began
to work.

I have been working in one textile machinary new technology R&D group
for three years. There i was responsible for new product development,
process control algorithm reseach, IPC MCU/DSP software programming,
hardware design. And i have been the project leader for more than 2
years. In the company ,I have designed the data-sampling and servo
control board based on TI C2407 DSP , and this board was regarded as
the template board in my company. And Also I successfully created new
algorithm model for short-term auto-leveller (which is the top five
diffcult textile machinary control algorithm) and verifed its validity
and stability in the pilot plant. And I also designed, simulated and
debugged the octave band spectrogam algorithm consisting of digital
multi-rate filter bank through Matlab M programming, And then
successfully transplant the algorithm into TI DSP using mixed
programming( C langauge for control ,and assembly for digital filter
design). and also It achieved successful result. I was elected the
member of the experts board in my company, and i have succefully
provide effective solutions for other project leaders, including
algorithm solutions, software and hardware tips.

Last month, My contact with my company expired and i decide to leave
the company.
Though, the GM told me he would promote me as the vice manager of my
department and
also incrase my salary. But they are not what I want. Anyway, I am 27
now, I need new chanllenge.

Now, I have left the company, for I really want to expand myself. I
want to work with those creative and innovative technical man and i
realized the importance of professional project management style. I
want to work in a multi-national company thus I can learn more and know

more ideas. Since idea creat the world, not just the knowledge.

But afte I left the company and decide to find my new job, I feel a
loss where to go?
Since, If I want to enter new industry, for example, IT industry. It
seems not impossible for the employer to hire me to be a project
manager because i have no the related industry project enginner and
project management experience.

If to a professional MCU/DSP firmware engineer, you know, it is not my
goal, and what' more , they also need related industry experience.

So, i feel very at loss, where to go?

This is the resume i just finised yesterday, Hope somebody can give me
some advice.

Objective
A challenging MCU/DSP R&D position where five years' experience in
algorithm research, firmware programming and hardware design will add
value
Highlights
* Three years' experience as a R&D project leader in the field of
Data sampling and motion control, successfully led the team finish two
projects.
* 'Strong problem solving skills with responsibility and fluent in
English, Mr.Liu is one of the top project leaders in my
company'--General Manager
* 'Innovative and creative in algorithm research, Simon is really a
quick learner in new technology field; and he gradually becomes a good
project leader from the team worker.'
--dempartment manage
* 'Simon is a very good organizer, meanwhile a very excellent
engineer'

Experience
Beijing JingWei Textile machinery New Technology Co., Ltd, Beijing
(2003- Present)
Member of Experts Board of JingWei (2006-present)
* Successfully promoted the technical discussion between project
leaders and built the application tips database to make full use of the

brain.
* Guided one project leader to solve the key problem in the control
algorithm, thus made the project achieve its goal according to
schedule. Provided correct system solutions for other two ongoing
projects when in difficulty.
* Helped some project leaders to effectively communicate with foreign
R&D group to exchange ideas, build time table and etc.
Project leader (2005-present)
Project: Fault detect Analyzer Design based on online spectrogram
* Specified the customer's requirements and structured the project
architect. Allocated subprojects and controlled the

working process.
* Created, simulated and debugged the octave band spectrogram analysis
algorithm through MATLAB M programming. Successfully designed the multi

rate filter banks consisting of digital IIR and FIR filters according
to the GB1354 (similar to ANSI-S1.11) standard.
* Updated, debugged the TI DSP data sampling board hardware according
to the frequency domain processing features.Successfully transplanted
the spectrogram algorithm into fixed-point TI DSP using mixed
programming(C and Assembly Language).
* Led the whole system setup and test, and achieved the same expectant
result and stability as that of similar foreign

products.

Experience-continued
Project leader (2004-2005)/project engineer (2003)
Project: Auto-leveller and Online Professional Monitor Design ('10th
Five Period Plan' project)
* Creatively built new algorithm model for short-term auto-leveller and

successfully verified its validity and stability in the successive test

in pilot plant based on IPC platform with commercial Data-sampling
cards.
* Redesigned the system based on embedded DSP+ARM platform. Designed
data-sampling and analog output servo control board based on TI DSP
with AD, DA, RS232/RS485, CAN and other modules. After solving the EMC
issues, the board is regarded as the

template board in JingWei.
* Successfully finished the DSP firmware programming for online
professional monitor and auto-leveller. And achieved the same result as

that of similar foreign product.
* Visited Israel servotronix servo drive R&D group (Sub Company of
Danaher Motion) for one month, and innovatively embedded the
auto-leveller algorithm directly inside the servo drive also based on
TI DSP. The cost decreased about 20%; meanwhile the system achieved
much more stability in the pilot plant. This cooperation is regarded as

'the successful cooperation model'between Danaher Motion and
JingWei.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai (2000-2003)
Assistant researcher:
Project: Seam Tracking System Design Based on Vision Sensing
* Participated in image processing algorithm research; successfully
generated diagonal differential operator algorithm for Image sharpen.
* Designed the data-sampling and step motor control board hardware
based on TI MSP430 MCU. Wrote firmware for this board.
Education
MS: Material processing engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University
(2003)
Research focus on: Intelligent welding control based on
machine sensing.
BS: Material processing engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University
(2000)
'Outstanding student of Shanghai Jiao Tong University'
Further graduate study without examination

anyway Thanks Particle, hope you are not kidding me.

Well, i am a result-oriented engineer. a good learner from the element
school, but i found my fatest shortcoming is that sometimes i will
really feel at loss. It's somewhat funny, but it is the fact, maybe due
to the fact that I was too result-oriented make me no time to think
about others, the future. Not a good thing. You know, that will make me
delay to expand myself at the right direction.

So far, the most happiest thing for me is to do algorithm research in
the challenging field. I hope i can find this kind of position.

I am not sure with your job, engineer or sales man?
I think algorithm research is really good thing to do.
Algorithm research really can bring me great enthusiasm to work day
an night. And in return, I will achieve some innovative and creative
result for my employer. Several years' experience in algorithm
research in the field of image processing, process control algorithm,
spectrogram analysis has made me one result-oriented researcher in
algorithm. In my point of view, algorithm research is the process like
the steps as follows:

1. You should guess and then gradually define, modify
your goal. Personally thinking, this is the most difficult stage.

2. Learn new things both in application tools or some
new fundamental theory related to that set goal.

3. Then ok, you can have the ability and fundamental
knowledge to search what can be searched related with goal, such as,
thesis, application note, similar solutions, through Google or library
or some guru in the group or whatever you can contact with.

4. Then re-define your goal, and select several
algorithm to be simulated, debugged in the MATLAB though M programming.
Sometime, since you should finish the job with minimum supervision,
sometime means, you even should design the hardware based on
MCU/DSP/IPC to sample the data to increase the creditability of the
simulation or compare the result with the rivalry product.

5. Then, if fortunately, you may soon find the correct
algorithm and get the correct result to fulfill you set goal. If not,
you should repeat the step from 1 to 4 till you succeed.

According to these steps, I successfully created three algorithm models
in different field.
