Default precursor ISI

What is the intutive explanation for precursor ISI.My channel impuls
response is causal, still I get affected by future symbols. Is thi
because
my channel spreads my signal, so when I am detecting a symbol at the pea
of the o/p response,it is much later in time,so future symbols alread
exist, only their peak is later.

Default Re: precursor ISI

I t just means that the strongest ray to the receiver is not the direct
path. This could happen where there is a wall between the transmitter and
receiver but there is a nice reflective surface adjacent to the wall such
that the "main" signal is actually delayed from the first(but much weaker)
signal that arrives.
