Default Phase accuracy in FFT with Matlab...

Hi all!

Im trying to obtain a transfer function, i.e.an impulse, with arbitrar
magnitude and phase characteristics.

I am using pol2cart function to input the desired phase and magnitud
response. Then using the ifft with the designed vector as an input
However, when I convert back to frequency with an fft for double checkin
on results, the phase info seems to be corrupted.

Doing some further experiments, and splicing the problem is small steps,
seem to find an incoherency in which I am stuck...

I created a 1KHz simple sine signal, fs=44.1KHz. The sine signal wa
created with an offset phase of 1 radian. I then do its FFT with 4410
points, and using cart2pol I obtain its phase response.
Plotting the phase response looks like very noisy. Unwrapping the phas
response does not help much in finding the 1 radian phase offset...

Any advices to set and find clean and accurate phase data through th
FFT?

Thank you in advance,
Javier
