Default Normalising time varying frequency selective channel

Hello All

I am modelling time varying frequencey selective channel. Now the que i
how to normalise it.

What I am doing is generate 3 rayleigh faded process:

a=[a1 a2....an];
b=[b1 b2....bn];
c=[c1 c2....cn];

Now, for the normalisation purpose, I make sure that

var(a)+var(b)+var(c)=1

But somebody told me that this is wrong. It should be a1^2+b1^2+c1^2=1 an
so on...

So, I dont know, what is the correct way to normalise this.

This thing has become an issue. Your opinion matters a lot.

Thanks

Chintan
