MMSE equalizer

From literature study, I noticed that MMSE equalizer (non-adaptiv
type)has been used to equalize the multipath effect in time-varyin
channel. May I know how these simulation are conducted since the channe
is time varying while there is no adaptation mechanism for the equalizer?

Please help. Thanks.
