Default identification of LOS or NLOS through ?????

hi all,
assuming a 4 or 8-antenna (multi-carrier based) communication
system with DOA estimation (by music or espirit or any 4 or 8 antenna
phase estimation algorithm). two situations as given below.

1. LOS or NLOS: - how can i identify Line of Sight or Non Line of
Sight type of channel through beamweights. (assuming i dont have any
access to channel estimates)
2. even in LOS ..when a modem is transmitting in Uplink..its
transmisison can get scattered (ofcourse a strong LOS path exists..)
and can form multipaths and also in case of NLOS..modem's transmitted
signal can scatter through multipaths before reaching base station. So
essentially multipaths are present on both LOS and NLOS
environments...in this case.with beam weight estimation..how can i
differentiate between LOS and NLOS environments..

i mean to ask..how does beam vary in LOS or NLOS ..and in multipath
environments..

thanks
