Default Help on MMSE and Least Squares

Hi,
I'm a rookie in Adaptive DSP and equalization and I have questions buggin
me and I need some help from you all.Now wherever I have read, they talk o
MMSE criterion and a LS(Least Square)Solution/Fit.From how I see, MMSE i
point on error surface in terms of expectation of error and a LS is bes
solution with limited degrees of freedom. Can anyone throw a little mor
light on how these are related along with their relation to ergodicity an
staionarity?

Thanks a lot,
AS
