Default Digital Real-Time Synths like SBFM are Golden Greats!

Whatever happened to the evergreen SB16 FM? It is superior to all FM
emulators, analog synths, sample-playback sets, virtual synths,
software synths, and ROMplers.

Yamaha FS1R is by far the best of all real-time digital FM synths.

Real instruments are superior over all of the above.

Digital real-time "on the fly" synths are the closest electronic
equivalents of real instruments.

Marketers claim "sample-based synthesis is more realistic than FM
synthesis". Don't fall for that crap!

Analog synths (real-time or not) would suffer from static and other
electronic interferences. NON-real-time would obviously experience
worse.

Any sampled audio - analog or digital - is vulnerable to alteration
and contains the annoyances of quantization and aliasing (in digital),
and static, hiss, and signal loss (in analog). Not to mention the
jerkiness of
non-real-time audio (happens in Winamp, Cakewalk, and Real-player when
formatted
badly or played on a computer w/ slow cpu or low memory).

FM emulators are a disgrace to FM!!! They use garbage PCM samples of
sound from an FM synth!
YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FM emulators are not real FM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All SB PCIs deserve to rot in hell!!! They have no real FM
synthesis!!!!!!!

Look. Buy all of these:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search...0&BasicSearch=

Make a pile of them, roll in it, and shut up.

Ebay and other auctions are not trustworthy. They are as-is, may not
work properly, and have no documentation.

They are not eBays products. eBay is the venue, not the manufacturer.
Use 'ask seller a question' to find out if manuals and driver disks
are included. I've had 120 transactions on eBay with NO bad
experiences (yet). I bought several used video and audio cards and all
worked correctly. The manufacturers websites often provide .PDF
manuals and drivers. So stop dumping on eBay and do your homework.
Happy new year.

But that still won't address his current lack of knowledge..
They don't conduct electronics classes in junior school, do they? <G>
