That's a much more informative statement of what you want than your last
posting. What you should be asking for is a reference to the applicable
standard (Ignore HD to start.) I'd have to search for it, so I'll leave
that chore to you or anyone who knows. It makes sense to know the
details of what you are about to do before concerning yourself with the
details of how to do it.

A matter of curiosity: What will you do with it once you get it working?
You can't tune a receiver to Matlab.

I think I remember seeing in books external stereo decoders,
but I don't remember ever actually seeing one. Just like we now
have decoders for digital television, when stereo broadcasting
was new there would have been decoders to connect to mono tuners.

Likely hard to find today, though.

Hi Jerry,

U call me to ignore HD? what is HD?
I was trying to apply to Matlab is becoz i want to prove in
theoretical is able to produce this kind of component before i proceed
my further research for my practical...

ya i agree... so i need to produce the RDS so that it will display the
FM channel and the song title and etc on the panel... before i proceed
to hardware, any comment on how to do in Matlab?
I know i can't tune in Matlab but i can substitute in a frequency and
look at the output in order to convince my project is correct before
proceed to hardware. AM I RIGHT?

Thankz for the reply... Comment plz...

Hi Mark,

I have read this website before.
What my question is "How to Create FM stereo from Matlab".
I just need help to generate the Matlab. IS it generate from fdatool
of Multiband? or can you all gv me some tutorial of the Matlab or any
hint from that...
Would appreciate for your help!

Thankz

Matlab is a programming langusge. Are you saying that you want code, or
hints on how to write it?

ya... i try to use multiband from the fdatool. can I use that to
create my FM stereo from that? I mean is that make sense if i generate
it from multiband and said this is the concept of how to generate the
FM stereo from theoretical... or any filter to use to generate the FM
stereo will all component?

You can't code something that you don't understand.Do you know about the
half-frequency subcarrier pilot?

What sample rate are you planning to use? If it is a multiple
of 38kHz it would be somewhat easier than other frequencies.

Hi Glen,

For example my audio is 1kHz, my sample rate is 200kHz. And i plan to
create out my FM stereo till the 57kHz signal of my RDS.
Any help on that in my Matlab on how to write the code or by apply
fdatool?

Thankz

Your continued allusion to fdatool leads me to believe you don't
have a clue. It's like asking, "How do I apply a 9/16" wrench to
rebuild my engine?"!

I've never seen one either, but at one time my dad had an old FM radio
that was mono but had a set of outputs at the back where one could
supposedly hook up a stereo decoder. He didn't have the decoder though.
The radio was tube-based, and dated from the 1950s, IIRC.

When stereo was new, large-scale integration was not yet a commercial
reality. Some tuners came with an output jack that allowed the
connection of a demultiplexer chassis (a tap before the preemphasis
filter) but I never actually saw one. People just bought stereo-capable
receivers.

Please could anyone here help me on the Matlab?

I know how to plot for the pilot frequency.
But i doesnt know how to plot the L+R and L-R region on Matlab.

Please help me on how to plot those region.

Do you know how the spectrum is structured for a commerical

Generate sum and difference, generate pilot signal, generate AMSC
subcarrier with the appropriate phase, add all three together.

A little more complicated since 200 isn't a multiple of 38.

glen, even his specification is incomplete. The input audio should
be STEREO, i.e., left and right.

Why don't you back up and tell us what it is you're trying to do. I
