Default basic question about GMSK derotation

Hi,

GMSK transmits 1 or 0 with +67.7k or -67.7k, and with each symbol,
the phase change is pi/2. Now, is that true the receiver just
corrolate and able to find out this is 1 or 0 already. why need to
derotate?

thanks
