Default Algorithms for Guitar / Voice effects

Hello

Some time ago I read in this newsgroup about a project proposal
involving guitar/voice effects.

Does anybody know where to find algorithms for this - mainly the voice
effect algorithms. One thing in particular could be the effect applied
to Cher's voice in "Believe".

Best regards,
Søren

You can find a lot of interesting stuff at
http://www.harmony-central.com. Also, Jon Datorro's webpage may be
worth a visit (http://www.stanford.edu/~dattorro/). He has some stuff
on effect design in some papers available for download. You can also
find some in Orfanidis' book "Introduction to Digital Signal
Processing".

.... or maybe come by my office

Hmm, looks like Datorro's papers on effects are not available for
download, but the references for them are there.

According to this article, they used a vocoder to reproduce her voice:

IMHO. YMMV.
