Default Adaptive Ungerboeck MLSE

Hi,

Anyone has simulated the Ungerboeck MLSE with the adaptive equations (58
to (61) in the paper? I've tried to simulate the MLSE using the equation
for adapting the matched filter and channel ACF. However, the results ar
not correct. Any advice from someone who has simulated a similar system
Thanks.

My advice is that you should realize you are posting to the entire
world,
not just to your classmates. The rest of the world have no idea what
paper you are referring to.

Julius,
It's an often cited communications paper
"Adaptive Maximum-Likelyhood Receiver for Carrier-Modulated Data
Transmission"

Thanks. I'm indeed referring to the paper "Adaptive Maximum-Likelihoo
Receiver for Carrier-Modulated Data Transmission" by Ungerboeck.

In my simulations, I've tried to jointly adapt the MF and channel AC
under a channel with normalised Doppler rate of 0.001, based on tentativ
decisions in a PSP fashion. However, the performance is not ideal. I get
lot of symbol errors in a packet after equalization. It seems that there i
a mismatch between the adapted MF coefficients and channel ACF at the en
of the packet, which are used to derive the MF output and error signal fo
adaptation respectively.

Any advice or suggestions, pls. Thanks.
