Does anyone know of a good page that describes that Pulse Position
Modulation PPM is? I am a newbie to modulation.

Thanks

It is where the information is carried in the position of the pulses,
relative to a reference position. Compare with Pulse Width Modulation
and Pulse Amplitude Modulation.

Google.

Here is what commonly referred as the pulse position modulation:
1 is transmitted as 110, 0 is transmitted as 100.
This is the easy to implement modulation which can tolerate large timing
errors. It is used in the applications like remote keys, garage openers,
etc.

That looks like pulse width modulation. ;)
