Scrambler design

Hi All,

I am looking for mathematical proof for finding the best scrambler see
initialization for a PRBS randomizer.
Also, going back to some scrambler basics, can some one tell me how i
PRBS generator derived? What are the considerations involved?
(I am talking about the 802.11/802.16,DVB standards).
