Webcast Vendor:
Altera

Video and Imaging QuickCast

Many exciting innovations, such as HDTV and digital cinema, revolve
around video and image processing. The evolution of this technology is
rapid, with leaps forward in image capture and display resolutions,
advanced compression techniques, and video intelligence being the
driving forces. These innovations have also resulted in broadcast
equipment resolutions increasing significantly over the last few years.

At the QuickCast, you’ll learn how low-cost Cyclone III FPGAs:

  • Offer an unprecedented combination of power, functionality, and
cost to enable you to design new video and image processing systems
    such as

    • H.264 encoding
    • Video line buffering
    • High-performance image scaling
  • Provide application-optimized features to lower your system and development costs including
    • Up to 4 Mbit of embedded memory
    • Up to 288 embedded 18 x 18 multipliers
  • Are supported by a complete design environment including
    • Video and image processing intellectual property (IP) suite with nine common functions
    • Video training course
    • Low-cost development kits
    • Free Quartus® II Web Edition software
