Initially Elliptic built a comprehensive library of crypto primitives for each security function.Over the last two years, Elliptic has recognized that customers want to integrate a security sub-system which consists of an interface such as AMBA, DMA capability including bus mastering and sequencing logic to cycle plaintext through a cipher operation followed by an authentication operation. This has led to the concept of an embedded security module or PDU processor which offers a complete security solution tailored for a specific market. Elliptic has also been building its software team to assist customer in integrating its solutions into a verification environment or reference design. Elliptic cores are generally shipped with a low level API which presents the underlying cipher blocks as function calls for easy integration into the final software design. Elliptic has now built and released a DTCP (www.dtcp.com) middleware solution which is available initially on Linux and will shortly be released on iTRON.
