Achronix Semiconductor is a privately held fabless corporation based in San Jose, California. Achronix builds the world's fastest field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) which use a unique, patented circuit technology, providing 2GHz throughput; a significant performance advantage over existing FPGA technology. Target markets for Achronix FPGAs include communications, networking, high performance computing, digital signal processing, aerospace and defense systems, medical imaging, and a growing range of other areas.
Founded in New York in 2004, Achronix relocated its corporate headquarters to San Jose, California in 2006, while maintaining its Ithaca, New York location as a research and development facility. Achronix has attracted top semiconductor veterans and is well funded by major Venture Capital firms.
