FM431

The FM431 is an FPGA PMC module that provides a high-speed high-bandwidth processing platform, targeted at software defined radio (SDR), radar and video functions such as FFT, FIR filters, digital up and down conversion, Viterbi and Turbo decoders, etc. An EP1S25 ALTERA STRATIX® device implements a high-speed processing FPGA.

Up to 10MB of on-board ZBT® memory (5MB standard) connects to the processing FPGA and is available to the user. Configuration data for the processing FPGA is stored in an on-board flash memory programmable via the PCI bus. From the Pn4 PMC connector, 64 user I/Os connect to the processing FPGA.

A separate EP1S10 ALTERA STRATIX® FPGA implements a PCI-to-Local-Bus bridge that provides a 64-bit 66MHz PCI bus interface and a versatile Local bus. The 66MHz Local bus connects to the processing FPGA via separate target read/write and DMA buses, providing sustained data rates of up to 450 Mbytes/s to and from the processing FPGA.
