Ofcourse I choose to write my own IP. This way I have the ultimate control. But at times, you need to solve the system problem, at which point evaluating the external IP makes mroe sense. Coming to the external IP, it is obviously more benefitial to go with the vendor IP, why? It is free (well most of the time), and what can beat FREE? :-)
