PLEASE read we need help in our fpga project..

hi, our project is to interface an SD Card through a development board (ALFAT XP) with an FPGA using VHDL. We are having problems in the communication of the two devices, specifically the transfering of files. They are connected through the RS-232 port. Is it possible for the FPGA to catch all the files first from the SD card then save it through a temporary memory? the files we are concentrating are only text files. We need to read the texts inside the text files. Is is possible to save them in a temporary memory then after they are saved, we will manipulate the texts. thanks, we need help please someone help us...
